E-Gov@WI 2020

Digital Simulation Games for E-Gov Competencies

The 15th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI 2020), the largest scientific conference on information systems in the German-speaking world, took place this year in Potsdam from 9-11 March 2020 (even despite the current corona pandemic). The Münster part of the ERCIS Competence Center E-Government was also represented there.

On-site, Marco Niemann presented a short paper on the digital online implementation of E-Government business games, which was written in cooperation with Sebastian Halsbenning and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dr. h.c. Jörg Becker. The presented contribution was first reviewed in a double-blind procedure and, after incorporating the constructive feedback, was finally accepted for publication and presentation. Special thanks go to Dr. Bettina Distel, Dr. Nadine Ogonek and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dr. h.c. Jörg Becker, whose publication on the promotion of necessary e-government competence of administrative employees through so-called simulation games is the basis of the presented contribution.

The paper was presented to the audience at the conference in a so-called Paper Jam in a short 4-minute pitch. Afterwards, there was the possibility for in-depth discussions at separate stand tables.
